You know what it's like when you finally get home from a trip and are just so ready to be back in the comforts of your own place?
After a full day of air travel with connections in three cities in two different countries, I was ready for the familiarity of my sanctuary. Imagine my surprise as I entered and that found someone had rearranged all of the furniture inside, put cellophane inside the toilets, decorated it with blown up medical gloves and those little umbrellas that go inside of mixed drinks in a bar.
Someone also left gifts of cheese and crackers, Pretzels, candy and a bottle of wine ...so they weren't all bad.
Someone had also brought all of the cards and gifts that Sarah and I got at the Full Moon wedding last week.
It was quite the homecoming after such an exhausting day!
Someone ... would be Cheryl Sadowski!
There is a vague memory, watered down by time and alcohol, of Cheryl explaining that theirs is a tradition of rearranging all of the furniture in the house of a newly wed couple when they were on their honeymoon.
I recollect that I said something incredibly witty yet profound like, "Bring it on Bitch."
She did.
The Living Room furniture was in the kitchen. Sofas were turned around. Coffee tables were where tables are supposed to be.
And Goddess hair was everywhere!
I figure that Goddess ... in an attempt to thwart Cheryl's evil plan ... attacked her viciously and the two fought on the floor. Trying to not be bitten, Cheryl grabbed clumps of hair from Goddess' back while my brave dog tried to prevent our home being wrecked. Knocking Goddess unconscious, a bloody and bruised Cheryl just left the dog hair strewed where sofas used to be as she went about her control of damage.
And so ... after an incredible send off at the Full Moon Wedding by the Carnival of Friends ... this is the homecoming!
It is time for me to put the joys of the past weeks behind me and get serious. I need to start running and doing more pushups. I plan on watching every single Rambo and Charles Bronson movie today as I mentally prepare myself for the things that I must now do.
Oh Cheryl ???? My dear, dear friend.
Payback is going to be a bitch!
