The sun shines brightly through the heavy morning fog as the Ocean sings loudly in the distance on a balmy Christmas Day.
I used to go to St. Martin for perfect Christmas weather but God is indeed good and it's going to be in the 80s on Tybee Island today.
The windows are open, the ceiling fans dance and, in a strange aberration of nature, the girls are sleeping late so all is calm, all is bright!
The aroma of Turkey roasting in the oven, the Holiday sounds of Jimmy Buffett make it perfect for Eggnog in bare feet on the Beloved Back Deck.
Sarah spent the day cooking yesterday so most things are ready for our family and friends arriving later for a feast.
I'm in an incredibly festive and happy mood given these things.
I paid good money to the Seminary to learn that Jesus was likely born in late April and not in December! The date was chosen by the Church as terrorist attacks on Pagans who celebrate Winter Solstice!
I'm pretty certain Jesus would have been against the whole thing given his attitudes towards love and peace.
In fact I believe he's demonstrated the whole thing today which is why we're having late April weather and, as a huge supporter of Jesus anyway, I'm all for Christmas weather as it originally was and not this made up stuff about snow and ice.
Today I'm celebrating the peace and love that I have in my life today ... there's far too many who have neither.
I'm going to celebrate with my family and friends with no real concern, or need, of presents.
Then ... I'm going to work on my tan.
Happy Christmas!
Enjoy Everything!
