There have been times when everything looked great from the outside looking in!
I made lots of money, was a public darling in the Press, my counsel was sought by many, I weighed exactly what I should, was in great shape and hair completely covered my head.
At the same time, I was very unhappily married (as was she), learning money doesn't buy everything, the Press never stops wanting more, neither do people's demands, working out was just a way of managing stress and I had a mullet.
It's Ying and Yang right?
Now everything's flipped.
I am so happily married, don't have any money, the Press doesn't call anymore, not as many people want things, I'm out of shape and I like the hair I have left.
Plus our children are healthy, apparently happy, pay on two houses when most only have one and lots have none, have health insurance, and the grass in the yard is really green.
But ... a storm blew last night ripping the Umbrella on the Beloved Back Deck to Hell, splitting a tree in the yard so half of it's laying on the roof, someone stole my ladder, I don't own a chain saw and we're out of bread.
What do you do?
We watch a movie, eat popcorn and munch on M&M's.
It was a good movie and Sarah, Maddie and I lay on the couch and poke fun at each other truly loving the family we are, eat too much and completely lose ourselves in somebody's else's world.
Then we go to sleep.
Well ... Sarah and I didn't immediately go to sleep but we did immediately go to bed.
It was great.
Then we wake up this morning, grab our phones and learn more shit happened while we watched the movie, ate the popcorn and M & M's, loved who we are and got lost in another world.
Then this morning we wake up grab our phones and learn more shit has happened.
Not the world's shit like Bill Cosby and Congress but our shit ... like the toilet won't flush.
I mean it flushes but it won't go down which causes the water bill to go up because what do you do besides keep flushing until everything's finally right?
