One Hell of A Good Wedding!

Crazy, insane promises are made in weddings! Stupid stuff, really!

I give myself to you, not just in good times but the shitty times too ... with money or without it ... if you look great or not ... feel good or horrible ... I will love, comfort and honor you even when I don't feel like it ... even if it's the last thing I really want to do!

It's little wonder that when Jesus attended a wedding he changed the water into wine because everyone witnessing needed a belt or two to steady themselves at such foolishness!

His Mother was the first to say as much!

It's a tradition that continues at most modern weddings.

I like performing wedding ceremonies and did one of the best ever when Jennifer and Gina lost their minds and gave themselves to each other!

Joyous witnesses gathered before hand at their house for drinks and Low Country served under live acoustic jazz!

In mass, we made the five block pilgrimage to the Back River Beach off Alley 3 where uninhabited Little Tybee floats, lush and green, almost within arm's reach.

You can't beat the setting of the Cathedral that God built!

Jennifer's tan was accentuated by a white dress and Gina was tough loveliness in denim and leather.

The best part of weddings is when I pause to enjoy the moment before concluding the service with "You may kiss your love" ... and your old life goodbye too for that matter.

Gina and Jennifer had nothing to do with it, passionately kissing before I pronounced them so I had to step in and separate them so they could kiss once I said so.

Everyone cheered and clapped as the large red sun sank into marsh.

Afterwards, there was a circus in the yard complete with corn dogs and funnel cakes, live music and dancing, kissing and ... well ... lots more kissing.

They promised till death parts them, they're in it for the long haul and share the real possibility of never having to be alone again.

Then they took a picture, pretending death had parted them, or they killed each other, but it's so evident they're having fun, enjoying the moment that you know love conquers death ... just like we've all been promised.

THIS SUNDAY AT BAR CHURCH ... we'll really no closer to knowing who's doing what than we were yesterday. We're asking God a lot but so far we're not hearing anything back. We'll let you know as soon as we know!
