Finding Funny

Lately I've become increasingly concerned people don't like to be funny anymore.

It's too politically incorrect!

It's against the Law to be too funny.

The religious community is against funny!

So I decided to do some research on where to find funny these days.

Starting with myself, I Google "Funny Micheal Elliott"  and am delighted to find yesterday's Blog pops up first in the search engine.

That's a good start because it means that I, at least, am still funny.

Next I Google "Funny Sarah Elliott" and ... I'm not making this up "Funny Blond Jokes" pops up first.

My wife is not blond but I die laughing so she falls into the funny category too.

It's Sunday so I Google "Funniest Churches in America" and am very disappointed to learn there are none.

The first thing popping up in the search engine is "2013's Top Churches to watch in America" ... not only are Churches not funny ... they're not current either.

Deciding to check out where we live I Google "Funniest things on Tybee Island" and the disappointment continues as "10 Things to do on Tybee" written by www.tybeeisland.com pops up.

It's either a Chamber of Commerce piece or from the Tybee Tourism Council ... neither of which has ever been accused of being funny.

"Funniest things about the Tybee Island Police Department" is my next search and I'm initially hopeful because the background page is a 1930s photograph of a policeman measuring how long the bathing suit is on a woman and I smirk a little ... there's hope!

Scrolling down hope is lost.

They basically promote themselves as fun loving people ... when they're not making arrests ... I conclude they're perpetrating a fault.

I think John O'Neill is my funniest friend so I search "Funniest things about John O'Neill" ... he doesn't even pop up on the search engine.

Now I'm completely convinced I'm sadly right ... people aren't as funny anymore.

If you don't believe me ... Google it.

Start with yourself.
